Privacy Policy

This describes what Wypi actually collects and what it does with it. Where Wypi does not do something — sell data, track you across other apps, read your location in the background — this says so rather than leaving it out.
What Wypi collects
Your account
- Your name and email address, which you give when you sign up.
- Your phone number, if you add one.
- A password, which Wypi never sees: authentication is handled by Supabase and Wypi stores no password.
What you post
- Addresses and properties you save, including their exact coordinates.
- Cleaning requests: what needs cleaning, when, your budget, any notes and photos you attach.
- Messages you send to the other side of a job.
- Reviews you write.
- If you use Cleaner Mode: your profile, service area, rates and any portfolio photos.
Location
Only while the app is open, and only to measure distances — how far a job is from you, which jobs are in your service area. Wypi does not read your location in the background and does not record where you have been. Declining the permission does not stop you using Wypi; distances are measured from your saved address instead.
Payments
Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach Wypi's servers. Wypi stores the amount, the status, and Stripe's identifiers for the payment — enough to show you what you paid and to answer a dispute. Cleaners who take payouts have a Stripe Connect account; the details they give Stripe to verify their identity go to Stripe, not to Wypi.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Wypi stores a push token for each device you use, so it can tell you about offers, messages and changes to your bookings. Signing out detaches that device. The token identifies the app install, not you.
What Wypi does not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics SDKs, no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No contacts, no calendar, no microphone, no camera roll beyond the photos you choose to attach.
- No background location.
What other people can see
Your address stays private until you hire
Cleaners browsing an open request see the neighbourhood and roughly how far away it is — a generalised point, not your street. The full address is shared with exactly one person: the cleaner you hire, once the booking is paid for.
Your name reaches cleaners as a first name and last initial. Your email address and phone number are never shown in the marketplace to anyone.
Cleaners are more visible by design: a cleaner's profile, rating, reviews and published service area are open to any signed-in client, because that is what a client is choosing between. A cleaner's home address and live position are never shown.
Who Wypi shares data with
Wypi does not sell your personal information and does not share it for advertising. It is shared with:
- The person on the other side of your job, as described above.
- Supabase, which hosts Wypi's database and handles sign-in.
- Stripe, for payments and payouts.
- Expo, which delivers push notifications to your device.
- Anyone Wypi is legally required to share it with, such as in response to a valid legal request.
How long Wypi keeps it
Your account data is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account, or see Support), Wypi removes your name, phone number, profile, saved addresses and properties, your photos, your notification settings, and the exact address of every request you ever posted.
What stays: the record of bookings that completed or were cancelled, the payments and payouts attached to them, and reviews you wrote about other people. Your name is removed from all of it. These are kept because they are a record of money that moved between two people — the person on the other side has to be able to account for it, and so does Wypi, for tax and dispute purposes.
An account with a booking in progress, a payment still settling, or earnings that have not reached the bank cannot be deleted until those finish. Wypi will tell you which one it is.
Security
The app holds no database credentials and never talks to Wypi's database directly — everything goes through the Wypi API, which checks every request against the signed-in account. Session tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Photos have their location metadata stripped before they are stored.
Children
Wypi is not for anyone under 18 and Wypi does not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
- See or correct your data — most of it is editable in the app; for the rest, ask through Support.
- Delete your account — in the app, under Settings → Delete account.
- Turn off notifications — in iOS Settings, or by signing out on that device.
- Turn off location — in iOS Settings. Wypi keeps working.
Changes
Wypi is in private beta and this notice changes as the product does. The date at the top is when it last changed. Material changes will be shown in the app before they take effect.
