Terms of Service

These terms are between you and Wypi. By using Wypi you agree to them. If you do not, do not use Wypi.
Wypi is in private beta
It is invite-only, it is not finished, and features described here can change or stop working. Do not rely on Wypi for anything you cannot afford to have go wrong.
1. What Wypi is
Wypi is a marketplace. Clients post cleaning requests; cleaners offer to do them; the client chooses one and pays through Wypi, which passes the money to the cleaner after the work is done.
Wypi does not clean anything. The cleaning is a contract between the client and the cleaner. Wypi is not a party to it, does not supervise the work, and does not control how, when or by whom it is carried out beyond what the two of you agree in the app.
2. Who can use Wypi
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract. You must give accurate information and keep your account secure. One account per person. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
3. Cleaners are independent
Cleaners on Wypi are independent contractors, not employees, agents or partners of Wypi. A cleaner decides which jobs to quote for, what to charge and how to do the work. Wypi does not set their rates, schedule or methods.
Cleaners are responsible for their own taxes, their own insurance, and any licences or registrations their work requires. Wypi does not withhold tax and does not provide insurance.
⚖️ Worker classification is governed by law that varies by state and this clause needs attorney review before Wypi opens to the public.
4. What Wypi checks, and what it does not
This is the section most marketplaces are vague about. Wypi is not:
- Wypi does not run background checks on cleaners or clients.
- Wypi does not verify insurance, bonding or business licences.
- Wypi does not inspect or supervise any cleaning.
- Wypi does not guarantee that any cleaning will happen, or be done well.
A "Verified" badge in the app means one thing and only one thing: Wypi has confirmed that person is who their profile says they are. It is not a statement about their skill, their insurance or their conduct. Every other check is listed in the app as not submitted, and never shown as passed because a different check passed.
Ratings and reviews are written by other users. Wypi does not verify them and they are not Wypi's opinion.
5. Payments
How it works
- When you hire a cleaner, you pay through Wypi. Payments are processed by Stripe; Wypi never receives your card details.
- The payment is taken at booking and is secured — Stripe holds the charge — while the cleaning is carried out. This is not an escrow account and Wypi does not hold your money.
- The cleaner marks the job complete. You have a review window to confirm it or raise a problem. When that settles, the cleaner's earnings are released and Stripe transfers them to the cleaner's account.
- A transfer to a cleaner's bank takes as long as Stripe and their bank take. Wypi does not control that timing.
Wypi's fee
Wypi charges a service fee, added to what the client pays, and a marketplace fee, deducted from what the cleaner receives. Both are shown before you commit: a client sees the total before paying, and a cleaner sees their net earnings before quoting. Tips go entirely to the cleaner — Wypi takes no fee on a tip.
Cancellations and refunds
Either side can cancel a booking before the cleaning starts. A cancelled booking that was paid for is refunded through Stripe. Wypi does not currently charge a cancellation fee.
If something goes wrong with a completed cleaning, raise it in the booking's message thread and through Support. Wypi will look at the records of the booking. Wypi is not an arbitrator and cannot compel either side to do anything.
⚖️ Refund, chargeback and dispute handling needs attorney review, and needs to be checked against Stripe's own Connect platform obligations.
6. What you agree not to do
- Take a booking off Wypi to avoid the fee after meeting through it.
- Post false information, impersonate anyone, or use someone else's account.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone on the platform.
- Use Wypi for anything illegal, or to arrange anything other than cleaning work.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer or attack the service.
Wypi can suspend or close an account that does any of this.
7. Your content
Photos, reviews and messages you post stay yours. You give Wypi permission to store and display them as the service requires — showing your request to cleaners, showing your review on a profile, delivering your message to the person it is addressed to.
8. Ending it
You can delete your account in the app at any time, as long as nothing is in flight — no live booking, no payment still settling, no earnings that have not reached a bank. What deletion removes and what it keeps is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Wypi can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or discontinue the beta.
9. Wypi is provided as it is
Wypi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Wypi does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a request will attract offers, or that any cleaning will meet your expectations.
⚖️ Limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution and governing law are deliberately not drafted here. They need an attorney, and a placeholder written by anyone else would be worse than their absence. See Support in the meantime.
10. Changes
These terms change as the beta does. The date at the top is when they last changed, and material changes are shown in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Wypi after that means you accept them.
